Personal Info

I am a creative and fun-loving person with an active imagination who loves to plan and design events, decorate my home and sit on the back porch for hours reading a good book. I fell in love with the creativity and ever-changing trends of planning a wedding and the challenge of making sure no two weddings were alike.

I met my husband, Kelly while attending college in Illinois. We were best friends for two years before we started dating and fell in love.  My husband was a Medivac pilot in the Army, so we had moved around quite a bit in the last several years. After living in Savannah, Georgia for four years, we got orders to come to Ft. Campbell Kentucky, which was a dream come true because my twin sister Jackie lived in Nashville.

My husband Kelly and I now live in Kentucky in a beautiful farm home with our two dogs Gracie and Hunter, our cat Judy and our many chickens, ducks and geese.

Professional Experience

I have been in the wedding industry in various capacities over the last 17 years. In high school and college I worked for a catering company where I learned the ins and outs of planning and executing successful weddings- from napkin folds and flatware placement, to the send-off, every detail of a wedding was ingrained in me. Weddings were fun and hard work, but I hadn’t learned that they would be my passion just yet. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and then went on to get my Master’s Degree in Public Administration and HR. I knew a year after graduation that my degrees were not my passion- weddings were. I started It Takes 2 Event Planners with my sister Jaclyn and now I can say that I truly love what I get to do every day.

My favorite moment of a wedding is right before my bride or groom walks down the aisle. I am alone with them for a brief moment,  I fluff the dress, fix a tie and they look me in the eye and take a breath. I say “Are you ready?” They nod or whisper “yes” and then off they go down the aisle to their forever.
